メロンパン Melonpan

メロンパンはどこのパン屋さんに行っても目に着きます。
バリエーションもいっぱいあって、コレクションしたいくらいです。（笑）
これは北海道のを2種。

やわらかいパン生地の上に
サクッとした甘いビスケット生地（クッキー生地）をのせて焼くんですね。

なんと、台湾や中国、中米などでも食べられているパンだそうですよ。

Melonpan is very popular, nice to see various types at bakeries.

A melonpan (also known as melon pan, melon bun or melon bread) is 
a type of sweet bun from Japan.
I hear that is also popular in Taiwan, China and Latin America. 
They are made from an enriched dough covered in a thin layer of crisp cookie dough. 
Their appearance resembles a melon, such as a rock melon (cantaloupe). 
They are not traditionally melon flavored,
but now we can see many types, some of them are melon flavored.
